Re-Building

So much has gone on in the past few months and it will still take quite some time for us to get everything back to some type of normal but its getting closer....

I have posted some of these photos on my facebook page and some I have not and will not as things are quite tense here in Charlton regarding insurance payments and who is covered and who is not, which makes me quite reluctant to share photos of home coming together and looking beautiful when there are many many people still homeless and fighting with their insurance companies. We are just lucky enough to have been insured with RACV who have paid us a ex-gratia payment which will help to cover the cost off the re building and re furbishing our home. Our business has not been paid anything yet so we still have that to deal with so we are far from getting out of this devastating situation easily.

The builders have been working at our house for over a month now and its finally all coming together. Its been a huge job, almost like starting from scratch.

There has been some positives that have come out of it! I got to replace the carpet that I hated!!! the bench tops I hated and the oven I hated!!! I had planned to replace them sometime in the future just not quite so soon after we moved in!!!

The nice thing is that the house will now really feel like our home as we have changed stuff to suit us. We are all really looking forward to moving home which hopefully will be sometime in the middle of May.

Jobs still to be done... replace all doors (internal and exterior) replace and fit new oven, cooktop and rangehood, repaint and get new carpets. All the furniture that we saved is out in our shed and until we unpack it we are not really sure what we will be able to use and what will need to be replaced as long as we have a bed to sleep on and kitchen and bathroom the rest will get done in time! Both bathrooms will also need work done but at this stage I'm not sure when that will happen???

Then when we move home we will need to start on the outside area and gardens which are looking really sad and neglected.

Never would I have imagined the devastation the floods would do to my home, family, business and our community, we have had to much help from so many people in so many different ways, we will never be able to thank everyone enough for there help, love and support though this difficult time. If you have helped us in any way please know that we will be forever grateful.

We are all safe and living up with Craig's parents which is where we will stay until our home is fixed with will take some time.

We have had lots of help from family, friends, community groups and strangers and I will forever be grateful to these wonderful people.

****Happy 8th Birthday Jasper****

Yesterday (Sunday) it was Jasper's 8th Birthday. He had a great day playing with his cousins and his new toys. (Toy Story 3 Lego, Rubik's Cube, Transformers, 3 DVD's, Game of Life Board Game, Dig for Dinosaur bones and science experiments toys) Chloe and I made a cake and decorated it (in a hurry as we were not really going to do a cake!!) it turned out quite well and Jappa thought it was cool, so that was all that mattered.
It was a big weekend as we had been to Kerang on Saturday and had been out to lunch then Ten Pin Bowling then home and to the theatre to see Despicable Me. He could not wait to get to school today so he could take the photos of all his presents and show them for show and tell!!

Craig and I had 3 nights away recently in the Yarra Valley,

We stayed at the beautiful Balgownie Estate Resort and Spa

It was nice to get away for a few days without the kids even though we missed then heaps it was nice just to have some us time and do some adult things like...

Enjoy a glass or two of the lovely wine.....

Enjoy some yummy adult food!!!

go out to dinner....

and enjoy a few hours in the snow...

The kids were very very upset they missed out on the snow but we promised to take then to the snow next year.

Our New Home...

We have been in our new home now for 10 days, almost everything is unpacked and it is now starting to feel like home.

The packing and unpacking all went well, thanks to my friends and family who helped with the cleaning and moving, it was so much more work than I thought it would be but it was so worth it...

We are all VERY excited, we have sold our home.

Not going very far only 2 blocks from where we are now!

It will be sad to leave the place Craig and I and them our Children have called home for the past 16 years but the home we are buying is a much bigger home which will suit our family much better.

Wednesday 24th March, Cherie is tired and the day is only half over...I have had a 5km jog this morning as well as a workout at the gym just before lunch, now I have to go to school for a music concert then parent teacher interviews after school... anyone want to come and cook tea for me I will be feeling like going to bed by then...bring on the school hoildays!!!

Thursday March 19th. Cherie is very very proud of Chloe, she came home from school aths sports with SEVEN 1st ribbons as well as breaking 2 records and equaling a 3rd record....

Saturday March 13th. Cherie is taking Chloe to a Netball Clinic tomorrow in Bendigo with coaching from Sharelle McMahon, Bianca Chatfield & Natasha Chokljat of The Australian Diamond Netball Team!!!

Wednesday March 10th. Cherie and Chloe had a great interval run this morning 5.36kms in under 45 mins...this included 2 hill runs!!!

Wednesday March 3rd. Cherie was just dancing around the lounge room to P!NK and little Miss Velvet says to her very seriously "Stop that dancing Mummy, stop dancing!!!" ...so cheeky!

What Huge Month November Has Been!!!!

Where to start??? So much going on, highs and some lows...here a brief run down...minus all the usually day to day stuff...

Kim Archers Retreat!!! I had been waiting and waiting and finally the weekend arrived and what a huge weekend it was. I left home at 7.00am, Craig drove me to Bendigo and I hopped on the shuttle to Melbourne Airport. I boarded a plane to the Gold Coast to meet up with Sheree and Leanne. It was so great to finally meet Sheree in real life, we have been chatting online for quite some time and we were going to be room mates at the retreat. From the Gold Coast we flew down to Newcastle where we took a very expensive taxi to the resort. As soon as we walked in the door we meet the gorgeous Mardi and Janelle, another two girls who I have been chatting to for a long time online and have never meet in person. It was fantastic...

The whole weekend flew by so quickly, I did every class offered, ate lots of nice food, lollies and had a few glasses of wine and champagne. The other girls on our table were lovely too. I worst part was saying good bye to everyone, There was lots of hugs and quite a few tears , I can't believe how close I feel to some of these girls, it feels like we have know each other forever. Janelle's lovely hubby drove me to the airport (thank you , thank you, thank you) then I flew home to Melbourne where Craig and the kids were waiting at the gate for me xoxoxx It was a fantastic few days and so worth the long wait, expense and the long plane flights on my own, I really hope Kim runs it again next year!

The weekend after the retreat I had another big event The BABBA concert. It is the first major live event I have organised for the Rex theatre. I was a bit stressed that we would not sell enough tickets or that something major would go wrong but luckily it all went to plan and EVERYONE has a great time. I have had so many people stop me in the street and say how much they enjoyed it and ask what our next live concert will be. So now the pressure is on to find another live act the appeals to a wide age group...Babba was great because who does not like ABBA?? If anyone has seen a great live act, please let me know.

The weekend after Babba I also had a big Saturday, My friend Marlene and I went and got tattoos!!!!

(my tattoo story) After years of secretly wanting to get a tattoo it finally happened. My friend and partner in crime Marlene also shared a desire to get a tattoo so we decided to get it done together. After many hours of www searching for the best artist, Marlene said she found the guy and booked us in...

Now came the hard part, deciding what to have and where to have it... I had lots of different ideas going through my mind, the one thing I was sure of was that it had to have meaning, it had to relate to me and my family. I liked stars and thought about having 6, each a different colour to represent each family member, than I really like butterflies, and then bows then the kids initials on my wrist then I designed my children's names around in a circle and I was going to have a heart and a C for Craig in the centre but it still just was not quite right so again the www search went on!!! I have a bit of a thing for retro/rockabilly/1950’s stuff and I came across a site that had great swallow jewellery. I saw a fab design on a necklace and decided that it was just what I was looking for so I copied it on to photoshop and started editing!!!

Finally my design was finished but even until I walked into Tattoo Nation I was not 100% sure if that was what I was going to have!!! But when Squirrel asked who was going first and what we wanted I knew the swallow design was for me.

Getting the tattoo was a lot less painful than I had expected other than the first bit of black outline which did hurt. I had some issues with bleeding and bruising afterwards but other than that it was easy!

I was not quite sure of what Craig would say but when he saw it and saw that it had the kids initials on it he was fine, he even said he liked it! He did want to know why his initial were not on it but I explained that the swallow is a bird that chooses a mate for life. therefore a swallow tattoo is also a symbol for love and loyalty to the family...so he was happy. The kids all thought it looked good and Chloe said she is getting one when she is older!!!! I said we will have to wait and see.

After many years of waiting and wanting I finally have it and I am happy, in years to come I may change my mind but life is way to short to think about that, I would hate to get to the end of my life and think gee I wish I had got that tattoo!!!

Then this weekend just past we all have been a bit down as Craig's nana, the kids nan nan has been very very ill and there is not a lot they can do for her so I am trying gently to let the kids know that she is really unwell and may not live for much longer. We all went and seen her in hospital yesterday, she was awake and talking to them which was nice but she did get very tired by the time left. Its very sad as her body is giving up but her mind is still going strong...

Well that's my November wrapped up. I can't believe that tomorrow will be December. I hope to do my December daily diary again so I best get on to that today.

The Joker...

School holidays are almost over...wow they went really quickly... We have done something almost everyday, yesterday we did have an at home day though, we watched some DVDs, after lunch while Velvet slept we watched The Dark Night ( its a bit of a fav with me as I have a bit of a thing for Batman!!! and Heath Ledger is brilliant as the Joker), then Jasper decided that he wanted to dress up as The Joker, luckily I had some face paint on hand, we did not have any coloured hairspray so I just used craft paint!!! looked good and also washed out easily as well (must remember that next time as it is cheaper than coloured hair spray and I always have paint on hand)

Jasper is having a birthday party tomorrow, Its not his birthday until the 10th he will be turning 7 but we are having it tomorrow so he can have lunch with his friends then we will take all of them to the movies to see UP...

That's all I have to share for now, lots going on around our house but will update on that at a later date.

OMG....where has the last few months gone!!!!

In my last real I blogged about Chloe and I going to see P!NK well its almost 2 months later and we are going to see her again next week!!!

Lots and lots of stuff has been happening during the past 2 months, more than I will be able to remember be here is a brief run down

-Chloe started Netball...she decided at the start of the season she was not going to play but then after a few weeks changed her mind, she is so glad she did as she is loving it. She has won 2 awards. We were all quite proud of her last week as she shot 3 out of the 4 goals the team got.

-Chloe turned 11 and Miss Velvet turned 2...

Its my party and I will cry if I want too... poor Velvet could not understand why she had to wait until we finished singing before she could eat her cake...

-Georgia has been enjoying her badminton, she played in the North Central Zone squad a month ago and is playing again this Sunday. Chloe also played but had to play for another team as they were short on numbers

- Jasper has been doing Auskick and spending all other free time playing Lego. He gets to go to work with Craig on Saturday mornings when us girls go to netball. He has a great time doing boys stuff and playing with the dogs

-Velvet is doing all the usual 2 year old stuff, talking lots, playing with her dolls, loves to walk instead of going in the pram, she loves watching the Wiggles and Hi-5. As soon as she hears music she starts singing and dancing. She also loves to draw, she draws on EVERYTHING and I mean everything....grrrr. She likes going to netball on Saturday but can't understand why she can't go on the court with Chloe which has ended in tears and a tantrum a few times

-I have been playing badminton weekly and played in the tournament earlier this week. Won 2 out of my 4 games. I finished my basic photography course. I am now doing an online photoshop course. Chloe has been doing the course with me, she is picking it up very easily, better than me in fact!! Have not been doing much walking or weight training in the morning as it has been to cold... must start again next week. My position in our local cinema/theatre is keeping me busy. I have busy booking all the movies and our next live show which is Babba. If you are on facebook check out our page its The Rex Theatre Charlton. We also have a web site Charlton Cinema.

-Craig as taken over another RACV area with means his area now is 150km long and 50km wide approximately which is a huge area to cover 24 hours a day 365 days a year.

P!NK ROCKED

Chloe and I had a unreal time at the Pink concert... The whole show was just just magic, I can't even say how much we both loved it.

While in Melbourne Chloe and I also indulged in some retail therapy and just basically enjoyed a great mother daughter weekend.

Lots of stuff has been going on,
Jasper and Craig went to see the Crusty Demons two Weeks ago
Georgia has gotten into the North Central badminton under 11's team
Chloe came 6th in the Zone Cross Country (6th out of 100 or more girls)
I have been playing badminton, doing a little bit of scrapbooking, had a layout published in this months UP2SCRAP, I have taken on a position in the committee for our local theatre so now I am in charge of picking the movies we show in the theatre and I'm in charge of posting out and distributing the flyer's/posters.
Started a basic photography course
Miss Velvet and Chloe celebrate their birthdays later this month
Chloe started netball
Jasper started Auskick

Another few weeks have passed by in a hurry...

The Kids went back to school after a VERY busy school holidays, the girls are really enjoying badminton and socialising with their friends.

Jasper is very keen for Auskick to start again soon so hopefully he wont have to wait long...

We have had 2 birthday parties.

Chloe and I attended a Twilight party that I organised at our local theatre....It was heaps of fun, we got dressed up and had our faces pale and sparkly, ate red food, drank red drinks and drooled of our favourite Vampires....(yes we are a bit obsessed)

Our school fete is this Friday so I am busy getting stuff ready for that....

Now a few photos...

First week back at school for term 2 Chloe had the house athletic sports at school, she did really well, collecting 1 x first, 4 x seconds and a third... WELL DONE CHLOE

Chloe and Velvet...just adding this coz its cute and just to remind us in the future what a special bond these two have with each other...

At 6 and a 1/2 years old Jasper lost his first 2 teeth... The girls last theirs when they were about 5!!!

Everyone enjoying a walk around Mt Egbert (The Granites)... look how dry and sad it looks, there are so many dead and dying trees... I love taking my children here as its a place I went to a lot as a child, I have lots of good memories of hours spent at the Granites...

Must go to bed so I can get up early, I was very lazy last week and only walked/jogged one morning, I am going to have to push myself extra hard this week to make up for it!

Easter and School Holidays....

The first week of the school holidays have flown by already, we filled in our time by having a play day with our cousins and Great Grandmar on Monday. Tuesday Chloe and Georgia playing badminton, it was Georgia's for the first time, she loved it. Wednesday Chloe and Georgia and 3 of their friends were girl guides for a day, Jasper had a playdate with one of his friends. Thursday I played badminton. Friday we did things around the house. Saturday can't remember...watched DVDs I think. Sunday (easter bunny came) and we went for a picnic and then went to see my Mum and Dad for a while. Monday....not much

Easter bunny is not a big deal in our house but he does does bring someting small for everyone... but only if you have been good....LOL

This photo of Velvet was on the Today Show (channel 9) Sunday Morning if you were quick enough to see it....
The photo cracks me up...she looks like she will kill anyone who come to close to HER egg...

Chloe, Georgia and I have been doing a little bit craft and doll making. below are the three dolls we made. I also managed to do a layout too as I had a lovely photo of Velvet and Mar (my grandmar, Velvets great grandmar) that I wanted to scrap... quite pleased with how it turned out....

March Madness....

First a few layouts to share....

The first 3 layouts were done in "cooking with Mardi" over at Kim Archers @ workshop....

And this one was done for the Twilight group over at The Boxx...

I really don't know where the time goes, Velvet has just turned 21 months, and Chloe will be 11 in 3 months time!!!! Where does the days, months and years go...

What have we been up to so far this month...

-Chloe and Georgia had a Football clinic with Essendon Football Club,

-Delivered meals on wheels,

-Kids had school photos,

-Celebrated Nana and Emily's Birthday

-Celebrated the birth of two of my dear friends babies

-Finished Tennis season

-I went to see "the golden age of couture"

-Did some scrapbooking

-Chloe and I fell in love with Edward

-Finished reading the Twilight series and started reading it again

-Watched twilight more times than I can remember

-Baked cakes, slices and Anzac biscuits

-Went out for morning with my girlfriends

-Went to Melbourne and saw Wicked (photos previous post)

-Got published in "for keeps"

-Went to Bendigo and drive more Kms than I really needed to

-Jasper started Reading recovery @ school

-Did all the usual school and home stuff

-Tried to eat healthy and exercise regularly (@6.00am most mornings)

That's all that comes to mind...

"In order to help out these family begin to put their lives back together I have started a scrapbooking plan - called “MEMORY GIFTS”.

I feel for those families in the Victorian regions devasted by fire this week. I can’t help but feel frustrated at the limited amount we are able to do from here to help. I can donate money but I felt the need for something more tangible to be done for those families who have literally lost everything.As scrappers, one of the most important things we deal with on a daily basis are memories. Family memories, memories of loved ones, memories of holidays, birthdays, christenings, bbq’s and days at the beach. These families in Victoria have got no tangible evidence of their lives left. No family photos. No happy snaps. You can replace a fridge, but you can’t replace years of momentos.

Quite simply, I ask each and every one of you who read this blog to donate a 12 x 12inch almost completed scrapbook LO to the “Memory Gifts” program. Each page will be sent to me. I will collect them and bind them, then hand them over to the head of Pastoral Care for the Victorian Catholic Education Office, Maria Kirkwood in Melbourne. It will not be just Catholic families benefiting, it will be anyone who needs it.

Each family devastated by fire will be (in time) given album pages to help them begin their memories again. Those families can then approach their own families for copies of photos to put into the albums, or simply start putting in fresh memories.

If you think you can help, please lave me a comment and I will reply with my postal address so that you can send on your page. Any help you can give will be much appreciated.I plan to have these albums finished by the 20th of March - that gives us a month to get cracking and create as many pages as we can!

If you feel you wish to contribute in some other way, please leave me a comment and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Many thanks on the behalf of the Victorian families who have lost everything".

TOP GEAR LIVE WAS UNREAL........................

Action packed with fireworks, fast cars, stunt drivers, more fireworks, lots of laughs, burning rubber, drifting, motorbike stunts, car football, Jeremy Clarkson..too funny, Richard Hammond...very sweet with puppy dog eyes, Steve Pizzati...top gear Australia's host and of course THE STIG!!!! who only made one appearance at the end which was a bit of a disappointment...

We did get up close to the action as Jeremy came up into the audience and sat in the 2 empty seats in front of us....

On a bit more serious note my heart goes out to all Victorian who have lost their homes or loved ones over the last few days....

46.1 was the top temp here at Charlton and the wind was just unbelievable. We had to stop twice on the way home from Melbourne due to the dust being that bad that we were unable to see a meter ahead of us, I was very happy to arrive home safe and sound to my kids...

My sister had to be evacuated last night from their home in Bendigo.... they are safe and were back in their house before lunch today but there were other people in that area who were not so lucky...

Must run as we are expecting power outages this afternoon...

On Sunday we had lunch in Melbourne as it was Craig's Aunty's Surprise 60th birthday party... The lunch was simply delish... above is my SIL Raquel and I at lunch.... (i look 1/2 pissed...but Im not)....

Christmas is over for another year and we are now into 2009....

I hope everyone has a lovely Christmas and that Santa spoilt you all...

I got spoilt by lovely hubby...as always..

I got this little cute camera so I can carry it round in my handbag...

And I also go this...

And this also!!!!...

I have not had much of a chance to use either of them yet but I am sure when things slow down I will have fun playing with them..

I have finished my December Daily Album...I am so happy with how it has turned out...I will add photos of it next time.

The holidays are flying along quite quickly, the kids are doing swimming lessons in Bendigo next week so that will keep us busy for 5 days.... After that I don't have anything planned...But I think Chloe has other ideas....she is on the phone ATM organising a sleep over with her friends..

Other than xmas get together and eating heaps of yummy food we have not done anything else so I will finish with a few photos taken over the past week... (with my little Canon and big Canon)

Well here we are 7th December...oh my where has the year gone!!!

There has been so much going on the last few weeks that I have no idea where to start so I will just add a few photos....

These 2 photos make me laugh..........

My Christmas photo shoot was a total disaster... no one wanted to smile or look at the same time and then we had tears....300 photo later and still not one Christmas theme photo was suitable for our Christmas card!!!! Oh well we tried a again a few hours later minus the hats, antlers etc and we did manage to get one 1/2 decent photo, but I wont show it on here just yet...

New puppy...girls night out and a little bit of scrapbooking...

Introducing Mack...

Mack is 6 weeks old today, he is a wolf hound / great dame cross..... tiny and cute now but when he gets older he wil be huge!!!

Another brother for Marge, Homer and Astro (our other dogs...)

Velvet is not real sure about Mack, I don't think she knows what he is... Our other dogs are all really big (wolf hounds and a whippet/grey hound x), I don't think she knows what a small dog looks like...

Just to prove my hair is slightly better now than the perm....

This is me last night going out to our girls night out...

This was our entertainment for the night...

We had the pleasure of going to see "hot shots" last night....LOL

Myself, my 5 friends and about 12 other ladies were the only ones there, I felt so sorry for these poor guys...all the work they put into there show and they get less than 20 ladies turn up...

It did not make any difference to us as well all had a fantastic time, I can't remember when I have laughed so much.... as the number were so small and we were sitting in the front row lucky me (not) had to go up on stage twice....it was so funny....these guys were trying to be professional and we were all just pissing ourselves laughing..

My friend Kylie who is pregnant with her 6th baby and has never been to anything like this had to go up on stage for a contest...and she won a hot shots singlet...which she had to wear and got it signed by the guys afterwards...i wont say what she had to do to win it (she would die of embarrassment)

Thank god no one got any photos of me rubbing oil on one of the guys chests............ROTFLMAO

Student of the Week....
Local Legend....

As I was away at the Forever Always retreat from Thursday to Sunday I missed out on going to end of term assembly but luckily Craig was there to see Chloe get 2 awards!! She got ""student of the week" at the P-4 assembly and then she also got "local legend" at the P-12 assembly. We are so proud of her as she has been having a few issues with a teacher but hopefully we have worked it all out and I think these awards shows how hard she has been trying to work things out .....well done Chloe xxxx

I had a fantastic time at the retreat....met lots of nice gals (don't want to name everyone in case I miss someone....) and even did a little bit of scrapping....LOL

I have not finished all my layouts but I will post them you will get the idea...

I also had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Lou ..... I have been a fan of her work for a while, it is so unique and different. Lou is so lovely and so sweet. She scraped 2 layouts for me and I love how they have turned out....

Seriously Busy!!!

Just want to do a quick update... mainly for my records...sorry if it is boring and unexciting

Chloe had her camp to Cave Hill (Monday-Wednesday last week)...she had a great time but came home totally exhausted and full of a cough and cold so had to have a day a home to recover..well she was not really at home she went to Craig's garage and sat in the office with the heater going flat out while she played on the Internet...she was there because I had badminton as Idid not want to miss a week as there is only 2 more weeks to go....I would of stayed at home if she was really sick....I'm not a totally bad mother....

Last Wednesday Velvet had her 12 month immunisations .....(yes we are 2 months behind) and I had a blood test to check on my platelet levels...it has been 7 months since my last test....I only go when I need to or when I start to see a lot of bruising....my levels were 58 which is down a bit from last time 78 (if you don't know 150 to 300 is normal range) I also had my moles checked and was told I need to have 2 of them removed....the Dr thinks the are both fine but he would like to remove them just to be on the safe side....my platelet levels had to be above 50 to get them removed safely so luckily I just scraped in..... and it saved me from having at have a dose of steroids to bump up the levels.....the Dr also said that if you have a lot of bruising there is a higher chance of getting an infection at the wound site....

We had our house sports at school last Friday, It was jasper first school sports and he was SO EXCITED....he was up, dressed, made his lunch, had his breakfast, brushed his teeth and packed his bag all before I had even got out of bed!!! (it was my sleep in morning!!)

This week has been busy busy....In between all the usual SAHM stuff, Monday I went to work for a few hours, that's about as long as Velvet can stay at the garage before she gets bored of being in the office and tries to to get out to the workshop and our with Craig!!!....Tuesday up early for a 6am training session, then went to Horsham so Velvet and I could see our new Chiropractor....she was very nice but a trip to Horsham is a whole day outing as it takes 1 hour and 20 mins to get there.... Today we had the inter school sports over at Boort.....(no photos) Tomorrow I have badminton and a hair trim and then after school Jap has to have a trim....Friday I am going around to catch up with Bri and work out what we need to take on our trip to Sydney which is in two weeks time!!!!

I have more to add but I must go as I can hardly keep my eyes open....but I will leave you with a few random photo's....

Another two weeks have flown by....

The second week of the school holidays went just as quickly as the first...

Chloe played in the badminton tournament and won two trophies...so she was very pleased with herself.

Georgia went to a friends house for a sleep over and Jasper had a play day a one of his friends house.

Other than that we stayed at home and took it easy.

Look at this tired little chic...

She was so tired she went to sleep in the shopping trolley at the supermarket...all they staff thought is was so cute..

Yesterday Chloe played netball in the Under 12's Lightning Premiership. The team was made up mainly of Girls who don't normally play netball. They did not win any games but they all had a fantastic time and gained lots of experience

I have a new fav game on the wii...its Guitar Hero III....anyone who has played this will know how TOTALLY addictive it is....

This is what Velvet got up to when I was paying Guitar Hero....luckily it was only Corn Flakes!!!

Tomorrow I am playing in a Badminton Tournament...it will be my first tournament, I don't think I will win many games but I know I will have a good time..

Is anyone else thinking of going to the Heidi Swapp Creative Escape 08 in Melbourne??? I really hope to get tickets, from what I have read it sounds like it will be fantastic...

Speaking of scrapbooking I am going to the "forever Always" retreat in September with Briony....She went last year and had a great time so when she was thinking of going again she asked me if I would like to go and I said yes.... Craig will be having a few days off work to look after the kids and hopefully Velvet will be totally weaned by then...if not 4 days without me will totally wean her....

First week of the school holidays have already come and gone, so we can now check off the dentist for 6 months and the kids seeing the chiro for another few months.

This week Chloe is playing in the Badminton tournament and I am on umpiring duty in the afternoon so that will fill in one day and hopefully we will just stay home the rest of the week and have a rest.

Last week I have a visit from one of my oldest friends. We went to primary school together for a short amount of time then we were in high school together and have stayed intouch ever since. It has been 12 months since I seen her last but it always seems like only yesterday....we always laugh and laugh...so much fun...Thanks Kylee, hope to see you again real soon xx

We survived the BIG BIRTHDAY WEEKEND!!!

And oh what a big weekend it was....

Friday night Chloe had her VIP DISCO sleepover party, with 6 of her friends....everyone had a great time but I think they would all be very tired the next day as I could still her some chatting and laughing at 2.00am!!!!

Saturday was Miss Velvet's birthday,

She had a lovely day enjoying her new toys and being the centre of attention.

Since Saturday she has been walking around everywhere...she thinks she is so smart and gives herself a clap when she does it well.
Saturday night we went out to tea with Craig's family.

On Sunday my family all came over and had lunch....we had a lovely time and all the cousins had a ball playing together.

(Can't share anymore photos as they all have other children in them)

I must say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who wished my 2 girls a happy birthday......Thank You.

Not much more going on, everyone is quite tired and getting cranky....thankfully we only have 2 more days then we are on school holidays....not that the holidays will be that restful as we have chiro appointments, dentist check, massages, badminton tournaments, play days and birthday parties!!! Hopefully inbetween doing all this we will have a little rest.

How cool are the stamps

Not much else going on here....Jasper's head is all better.

The kids have got a long long weekend, they had no school yesterday and then the public holiday on Monday.

We are going to Melbourne on Sunday to the footy to see St Kilda and Bulldogs play at Telstra Dome. Jasper has been a few times before with Craig but it will be the girls first time....they are very excited....not sure how Velvet will go?????

Yesterday I updated my photos that I have hanging in the lounge room, theses are my new updated ones. ( I took the ones of Georgia, Jasper and Velvet yesterday but the one of Chloe was taken a few weeks ago)

On Sunday we went for a drive to "Melville Caves" which is about a 40 minute drive from home. The kids had a ball climbing over in and through the rocks. I did not get many photos as I killed the battery on the camera using the flash to find our way through a cave!!!

Georgia is in the red circle, just wanted to show the size of some of the rocks....

Quick run down on whats going on here....

This is a extremely busy month for us.....2 big birthdays......

My big baby girl turns the big 1 o......yes Chloe is 10 and 2 days later my baby girl, Miss Velvet will be 1.....oh my where has the last 12 months gone.

My SIL Raquel share a birthday with Chloe so we have 2 birthdays to celebrate on the 19th.

Chloe has been playing netball today at the inter school sports, then after school she had badminton and tomorrow she is running in the inter school cross country in Bendigo so I am expecting a very very tired big girl in our house tomorrow night!

Jasper was sent home from school today as he fell and cracked his head on some seats....he has a HUGE egg and a big bruise on his head...poor boy xx

Can't think of anything to write about Georgia...everything is good with her.

Miss Velvet is almost walking, she can stand on her own for ages but just won't take that first step but I am sure she will be walk before her birthday in 3 weeks time.

I have some scrapbooking to share but it will have to wait until next post.

Another week gone....wow where does the time go....

Just a brief update on what has been going on....

My baby (who is now 10 months old!!!) has still been having a few problems since her fall 2 weeks ago but I think finally she is almost back to normal. She has had 2 trips to the chiro and is going again on Wednesday. It seems that her swollen wrist was the least of her worries. She had put her pelvis out and also her knee and ankle which was why she has been crawling funny. She has in the last 2 days just started to crawl normally again (thank goodness)

My friend who was very ill in hospital came home on Wednesday...she still has a LONG was to go until she is back to her normal old self but she is on the right track.

I have started playing badminton again on Thursday morning and I am loving it. I was a bit worried about how Velvet would be when I am out on the court but luckily some she has been fine, she has even had a sleep each week in the pram. There is a good group of women playing and it works well if you are not on the court you look after the children in the foyer.

Have not had much time for scrappping but I did get this one done for a scrap - a - sketch class I am running next Friday night.

(the blue mark next to the text box is where one of my lovely children spilt something on the layout and I have tried to fix it!!!

The girls both had friends over for sleepovers on Friday night, they also both had friends over 2 weeks ago......I have worked out that it is much easier if they both have a friend over at the same time then there is less fighting as they both have some to play with.

Poor Jasper gets out numbered with all the girls.....yesterday we had my sister her with her two girls so there were 7 girls (including Velvet) and only 1 boy, poor Jappy.....

As I said above Velvet is now 10 months and 1 week old (just adding this for my own records) She still only has 2 teeth!!! the two top ones are very very close to coming through. She can stand alone for a few seconds and can walk with someone holding one of her hands.

She loves looking out the window at the birds and if she gets cranky you can always distract her by saying where is the birdies....

She waves good bye and if I say "where is the bus" she looks around and waves likes she does when the other kids go on the school bus...too cute.

Her fav food is still mashed banana and she loves custard, she has porridge for breakfast and eats what ever we are having for tea. Most nights she wakes up once and I feed her back to sleep. She is such a easy baby and is so easy to take anywhere. This age is just so lovely...what a shame babies have to grow up.

That's about all I can think of at the moment.

my baby is ok....

We have been to the DR and he seems to think that because she is still moving it and we can touch and move it without her crying that it is not broken.
She is still not putting pressure on it but the DR thinks that it is a good thing as it will give it time to heal. If she is still not using it at the end of the week I will be taking her back , but until then we will have to just wait and see. The DR did said that even if she had a green stick fracture they would not put it in a cast she would just have to rest it (which is what she is doing!!

Oh look at my poor baby.....................

Yesterday morning while we were at the park she fell off the swing on to the wood chips...luckily she did not fall very far..... After I picked her up she. cried a little but I calmed her down quite quickly and then I never thought of it again until about 4 o'clock that afternoon when she was screamed every time she put pressure on her arm when she was crawling around. Other than when she put pressure on it it was not worrying her. So off we went to the local hospital, the nurse checked it out and called the Dr. he said because she was not in a lot of pain he thought it would not be broken and told the nurse to put it in a sling and send us home. As you can imagine the sling lasted on her arm for all of 10 minutes!!! We were told to leave it on for 24 hours and then see how she was. She has been crawling around today but has only been using one arm so I think we will be going back to the Dr. tomorrow and hopefully he will send us for an x-ray. I don't think it is broken but i just want to make sure, I think it may be just sprained.

I will let you know how she is after we see the DR.

Well school holidays are almost over already, where did the 2 weeks go!!!

Last Friday we went to Melbourne after we had our chiro and podiatrist appointment and I went to visit my friend who is in hospital (re a few posts ago)...she is recovering slowly and she still has a long road ahead of her but she is much better than she was a month ago. I am going to with another friend to see her again on Monday.

While in Melbourne I went to Paperific, it was fantastic to meet AM and Trish in real life, they are both lovely....it was also great to be able to see stock in real life before I buy it!!! I came home with lots of new stuff to show my customers.....here is a pic of some of my goodies.

I also did a Mixed Acrylic Album class with Nicole Finlayson, I am so please with the way my album has turned out. I only go 3 pages done at the class so I finished the rest of it this week.....

Nicole is lovely and I picked up heaps of tips and hints from her...Thanks Nicole, the class was great.

I also caught up with Ngaire, she was working on KSK stand and she was flat out so we are going to catch up and scrap together soon....

Not much else going on, did some scrappin today, using BG Sugared range...

Georgia also did 2 layouts, I will add them at a later date.

Before I go I must add some photos of DD Chloe who is almost 10....wow she is turning into a young lady so quickly and she is getting so tall, she will be towering over me in no time.....

Must finish before the batteries die on the laptop.

My beautiful baby girl is now 9 months old.....

Hope everyone is having a safe and happy Easter and I hope Easter bunny was good to you all.

School holidays have now started, gosh I can't believe that term 1 is fished already!!!!

Not much planned for the holidays, we are going to go and have one night in Melbourne so I can go to Paperific....I am booked in to do a Mixed Acrylic Album with Nicole Finlayson....can't wait, it should be fun....Some of my layouts will be on display at Paperific on the "scrapanlia"stand so check them out if you are there.

The kids and I all have chiro and podiatrist appointments in Bendigo so that will fill in another day of our holidays....

Saturday night we went to a Quambatook Tractor Pull....the kids had a ball as two other families joined us....10 kids, lots of dust and lots and lots of noise.....what more would a kid want.... (will add photos of them later)

One of my dear friends has been very unwell, she is in hospital in ICU, she has been there for 3 weeks now. She thought she had the flu but just became sicker and sicker, her hubby went out to work and came home at lunch time to find her in bed unable to move or respond and almost not breathing, by the time she got to the hospital here, things were touch and go, then she was flown by air ambulance to a larger hospital where she has been ever since. The first thought it was Meningococcal but now they are just not sure. She was in a induced coma and on life support for almost 2 weeks. Her recovery has been very slow until a few days ago when things started to look a bit better, as she is in ICU and we have not been able to see her but maybe over Easter myself and some of her other close friends may be able to see her.

On a brighter note Mardi has added a little project to her blog, the project is to do little tourist spiel about where we live, so this is going to be my challenge for this week.

Before I go must add these photos of Georgia dress up as Violet Beauregarde for a Willy Wonka Day at school.....It took 3 washes to get most of the purple out of her hair....but it was so worth it....she looks so cool xx

1. I used to have a thing out bare feet!!!! I hated showing my feet so I would always would wear closed shoes......I am totally over that now, as anyone who knows me would know I own about 30 pairs of thongs, 1 in every pattern and colour available.

2. I hate spiders......I totally freak out when I see them, I have called Craig home from work lots of times just so he can kill a spider.....

3. I LOVE to Dance....I wish I could dance like the people on "So you think you can dance"

4. I Love going to the hair dressers, I have been colouring my hair ever since I was in high school, I would not even know what my natural colour is!!

My baby girl is 8 MONTHS OLD TOMORROW!!!!!!

I can't believe that 8 months have gone already.....boy does time fly...

(I will post some photos of her tomorrow)

Things have been flat out around here lately, I thought with 3 kids at school I would have all this free time.....boy was I wrong, I feel busier than ever, there is always something to do and I have to also have to leave some time for socialising......LOL

I must say sorry to my DH Craig, I have not had time to go to work and do that HUGE pile of filing he has saved for me......I promise I will try and get it done next week.....xoxox

Everyone is settling in to school, even Jasper is more keen to go now that he has discovered the sports shed......His friends and him play cricket almost every lunch time. The first few days Jasper found school very boring as the felt like he was spending all his day listening to the teacher and not doing anything exciting but now they are into the swing of things his is enjoying it a lot more.....he is loving bring home a new reader each night and being able to read it to me or Craig....he feels so proud of himself.

This afternoon we have parent teacher interviews, these are held early in the term so we can find out from the teachers what is going to happen for the school year and how we can help our children at home.

I became a god mother again on Sunday. I am a god mother to my nephew Xavier. I have not got any pics yet but I will add some when I get some pics from my mum.

Chloe and her friend Sigrid won the under 10 girls tennis tournament 2 weeks ago.....no photos of that either!!!! I will get some photos when they get there trophy on the presentation day.

Georgia is home sick today, I hope it is only a 24 hour bug and hopefully no one else gets it!!!!! I have had the glen 20 and pine o clean out in full force!!!!

My mojo has gone quiet again but below are a two more pages I managed to do and also some scrumptious cards (from aussie scrap source), I will be running a class on the cards this Friday night.

Thats all I can think of at the moment,

Why does your camera bettery always run out at the MOST important time!!!

Yes, just as we were doing the first day of school photos the battery died!!! so I said "Chloe, run and get your camera" and of course hers had a flat bettery too......so I got out the old, old betsa and quickly snapped some photos, they arn't great but at least there is some.
